Most people today use the Internet to browse for specific information, shop online, connect with their friends and family on social media, to watch YouTube videos, check their emails and so much more. If you’re like me, you also have the goal of making money online with the hopes of landing a work at home job which is probably why you have visited this site. There are several legitimate companies that will pay you to do a variety of different tasks online but is there a way that you could connect the two? Continue to read and I will explain how this could work for you.
Completing everyday tasks online is one thing but getting a work at home job is another or so they say. But I have brainstormed a couple of ideas that will help you to use these sites to step up to a work at home job. Yes, a real work at home job that will pay you by the hour that allows you to either work a set schedule or is flexible giving you the option to work whenever is most convenient for your time schedule.
Here are a few ideas that I came up with.
Posting on Forums
Many of you have either used, currently using or may decide to use posting on forums as a way to earn a little side income. Sites like Postloop and the Forum Wheel has made this a reality for a lot of teens, stay at home moms and others but did you know that you could use your experience posting on forums to get a work at home job in online moderation? Think about how the two are connected. You submit a comment or thread on a forum and you get to see other people’s post as well. You know how the forum community works and what is or is not acceptable. This is exactly what a forum moderator does. They monitor each online community by rejecting or accepting posts that have been submitted by the members including banning some if necessary, approving new members and even editing their posts if necessary.
As you know there are a few companies that currently have a need for online moderators that you can apply to online. People who have hands on experience forum posting is exactly what they are looking for. Live World and Mod Squad are a couple of companies that you can apply to right now. The pay is somewhere around $10 per hour. This amount could be in addition to you still getting paid to post on forums if you choose to do so.
Mystery Shopping
Let’s assume that you are a mystery shopper on the side but you want a work at home job. Okay, you also know how the process works of being able to visit or make phone calls to various businesses and establishments and then submitting your report about that experience online. You may even be a mystery shopper for companies like Best Mark, Market Force, Call Center QA, Amusement Advantage or another legitimate mystery shopping company. Did you know that companies hire remote workers to edit and schedule mystery shops for their mystery shoppers online? In fact, Amusement Advantage is always looking for editors and schedulers to work from home doing just that. You will either edit and review mystery shops that have been submitted by mystery shoppers or schedule new mystery shops to be assigned to their list of mystery shoppers.
If you are a current mystery shopper for the company, you may even have a greater chance of getting the job especially if you have completed all your assignments on time accurately. You can sign up here to be a mystery shopper for Amusement Advantage. Check out the requirements and apply to be a recruiter/scheduler or editor for Amusement Advantage.
Teaching
Were you a good student in school and excelled in math, reading and other subjects? Are you fluent in English? If so, did you know that you could make close to $20 per hour tutoring students in the comfort on your home how to speak English or assist them with other subjects? Try websites like Cambly, Tutor.com and others listed on the weekly job section or Tutoring pages of this website.
Posting on Social Media
If you use the internet to post viral videos or chat with your friends online, you could also use your acquired skills to work from home as a social media evaluator for Appen. Appen has a constant need for people who are daily users of social media to work from home for just 1-4 hours a days monitoring one of the world’s largest social media platforms. All that is required from each applicant is to use social media daily, be able to follow instructions, have a smartphone or computer that is less than 3 years old and have a few followers on social media. You can even earn up to $1,000 a month doing this from home. Read more about working from home for Appen here. You can find more social media jobs on the weekly job section and Friday freebie pages of this website.
Ambassador
If you are up-to-date with the latest brands, fashion and styles and post them on your social media platforms and elsewhere, you could work from home as an online stylist for some work at home companies or brand ambassador for Needle. They are always looking for chat advisors to assist others via chat to help them with their favorite brands. You could also be an ambassador for well-known brands like Ebates or even survey companies like Legerweb and get paid for every person you refer. Believe it or not, you could even make more money working as an ambassador then working a traditional at home job especially if you have a lot of influence or followers. With Ebates, you can literally earn thousands of dollars per month referring new members. Read more about how Ebates works here.
Sell Gigs
What if you sell gigs on sites like Fiverr for $5 each. Not only could you use Fiverr to generate decent side income if you are able to pick a gig that solves a problem or fills a need that is in demand but you could turn your Fiverr gigs into steady full-time income and use it to build up clientele to start your own business writing online, in advertising, promotion, etc. I once made $75 in just 5 minutes with this site which is probably more than and job or work at home job could pay me. Watch how I did this below.
Can you think of any other ways you can take a simple gig or daily task and turn it into full-time income or a work at home job? If so, please leave me your comments below.

Hi James. Thank you for your comment. I understand that you want a work at home job with hourly pay that does not involve selling anything. I do have quite a few jobs that fall into this category that I wrote a post about entitled, “Work at home Jobs that Do not involve Selling Anything” that you can read. You can also browse this blog for other hourly pay work at home jobs.
