We may earn money or products from some of the companies mentioned in this post.

If you are a shopper, you must join Rakuten because you will get free money to go shopping…and it’s not a scam!  I have been using Rakuten formerly known as Ebates for more than 4 years now and have earned a grand total of $4, 650.92 to date.  Think about this.  You can get paid every time you shop with Rakuten.

I LOVE this site because it is completely free, easy to use, has no catches whatsoever and will always reward you for being a member.  I highly recommend using this site because the majority of people shop so it’s really a no-brainer.  Plus you get access to deals, discounts, and coupons from businesses that never seem to have a sale.

In order to get started, you must first join Rakuten for free here.

After you have joined simply browse through a huge list of stores deals before you shop to get your cashback.

There are 3 ways for you to get your cashback

  1. Shopping online through Rakuten’s official website.  You can also download their free Google Chrome extension which will notify you of websites that offer cash back while you are browsing the web.
  2. Link your debit card in your account to save and get cashback when you shop at the mall and in physical stores.
  3. Use your Rakuten Cashback Visa Credit card to earn unlimited cashback on all purchases made with this card.  You will also get an extra 3% cashback on top of the cashback you will already earn using this method.

What I like about Rakuten is that it takes away some of the guilt of shopping, you don’t have to wait for a special occasion to shop because they always have deals and it is so convenient.

How do you get your Cash Back?

Rakuten pays its members by sending you a check in the mail quarterly or every 3 months.  The next BIG Fat check will be sent out by February 15th.  If you prefer to get your money sooner, you can choose to receive get paid through your PayPal account or American Express.  Another option is through an e-gift card.  The benefit of doing so is that you will get your gift card right away via email and you can get up to a 15% boost for choosing this option.  For example, I will get a check in the amount of $275.30 or I could get an e-gift card for $316.60 from Macy’s or JC Penney.  Check out a sample of the stores and amounts of what I can redeem right now below.
